Young Investigator Awards

The Young Investigator Awards finalists of EAP, ESPNIC and ESPR will give presentations on Monday, October 24 in Halls X, W and V between 09:00-10:00.

The EAP, ESPNIC and ESPR awardees will be announced during the Closing Ceremony on Tuesday, October 25 between 11:30-12:00 in Hall W.

Bengt Robertson Award for Research Concerning the Neonatal Lung

The recipient will be awarded on Monday, October 24 ​at 18:00-19:00 in Hall V.​​​​

PLEASE NOTE: Applicants must have an abstract accepted by the ​Scientific Committee in order to be considered for one of the awards above. Should you wish to be con​sidered for one of the awards, please ensure that you submit an abstract, and indicate in the submission form that you would like to be considered 
for an award, as well as submit the additional required documentation for the relevant award via the online form below.

EAP YOUNG INVESTIGATOR AWARD

Requirements:

  • ​Must be an EAP member
  • Must be < 35 years of age. Clear copy of ID indicating date of birth is to be submitted.
  • Click here to submit your CV and proof of age.
  • Content of the abstract must represent original work and not presented/ or published previously  (declaration form)
  • Request for consideration must be made on the abstract form at the time of submission
  • The applicant must be the first author  and presenting author of the submitted abstract.
  • Selected finalists to be informed in advance and must confirm their attendance to the Congress.​

Judgement criteria will be based on:

  • Scientific content
  • Structure of the abstract
  • Presentation
  • Ability to defend the paper/results during question time from the audience

Prize:

  • EUR 1,500

ESPR BENGT ROBERTSON AWARD FOR RESEARCH CONCERNING THE NEONATAL LUNG

Requirements:

  • Abstracts must be on research concerning the neonatal lung.
  • Request for consideration must be indicated in the abstract submission form at the time of submission.
  • Content of the abstract must be original work.
  • Presenting authors must be < 35 years of age. Clear copy of ID indicating date of birth is to be submitted.

  • Name of an ESPR member supporting the application is required.
  • The name of the presenting author MUST match the name of the applicant.
  • Requests that do not conform to above terms will automatically be declined.

Judgement criteria will be based on:

  • Scientific content
  • Structure of the abstract
  • Presentation
  • Ability to defend the paper/results during question time from the audience

Prize:

  • EUR 3,000.
  • Complimentary registration to the next ESPR Annual Meeting
  • Accommodation and travel expenses for the next ESPR Annual Meeting will be covered.

ESPR YOUNG INVESTIGATORS AWARD

Up to two prizes will be awarded.

Requirements:​

  • ​Must be an ESPR member
  • Must be < 35 years of age. Clear copy of ID indicating date of birth is to be submitted.

  • Request for consideration must be made on the abstract form at the time of submission
  • The applicant must be the first author  and presenting author of the submitted abstract.

  • First Prize: EUR 600 Award, complimentary registration and free travel the next ESPR Annual Meeting.
  • Second Prize: EUR 400 Award, complimentary registration the next ESPR Annual Meeting.

ESPNIC YOUNG INVESTIGATORS AWARD

Up to two prizes will be awarded.

The ESPNIC Young Investigator Award supports the development of research activities undertaken with the active contribution of the applicant. The specific intent is to provide support for young and talented physicians in their early career in the field of paediatric and neonatal intensive care to present their research topic of their choice in front of a designated jury during an oral session at the EAPS Congress.

Requirements:

To be eligible for this award, the applicant:

  • Must be an ESPNIC member
  • Must be < 35 years of age. Clear copy of ID indicating date of birth is to be submitted.

  • Content of the abstract must represent original work and not presented/ or published previously (declaration form)
  • Request for consideration must be made on the abstract form at the time of submission
  • The applicant must be the first author  and presenting author of the submitted abstract.

Prize:

  • First Prize: EUR 1,000 Award, complimentary registration and free travel to the next ESPNIC Annual Meeting (up to 500 EUR),  one year complimentary membership
  • Second Prize: EUR 500 Award, one year complimentary membership ,complimentary registration to the next ESPNIC Annual Meeting

ESPNIC MEDICAL AND NURSING ​AWARD​ (E-POSTER DISCUSSION PRESENTATION)

Up to two prizes, one nursing and one medical, will be awarded.

The ESPNIC E-Poster Award supports the development of research activities undertaken with the active contribution of the applicant. The specific intent is to provide support for young and talented ESPNIC members in their early career in the field of paediatric and neonatal intensive care to present their research topic of their choice in front of a designated jury during an E-Poster Discussion Session at the EAPS Congress.

Requirements:

To be eligible for this award, the applicant must be an ESPNIC member.

Judgement criteria will be based on:

  • Scientific content
  • Presentation

P​rize:

  • Complimentary registration the next ESPNIC Annual Meeting.
  • One year complimentary membership

ESPNIC NURSING AWARDS (ORAL PRESENTATION)

Up to two prizes will be awarded.
The ESPNIC Nursing Award supports the development of research activities undertaken with the active contribution of the applicant. The specific intent is to provide support for young and talented nurses in their early career in the field of paediatric and neonatal intensive care to present their research topic of their choice in front of a designated jury during an Oral Session at the EAPS Congress.
